Beaconhouse Virtual Sports Competitions
(BVSC) 2020

Physical inactivity is an issue that has become a crucial cause of concern on a global scale. It is inarguably accepted that a bit of healthy competition in any field is known to enhance motivation and generate increased effort from those competing. There is a role for both competitive and non-competitive sporting pursuits. Non-competitive sports are a great way to get some exercise whilst enjoying time, but there are a number of other advantages of the sport that can only be found in the competition i.e. encourages physical activity, builds discipline and confidence, promotes the value of goal setting, encourages higher standards of achievement and teaches how to respond to the result of competition. Due to pandemic and precautionary measures regular sports, especially team or physical contact sports were restricted. Keeping in view multiple factors BVSC was introduced for the first time in 2020, it grabbed a great success.

VSC is a knock out base competition, both for boys & girls in three competing groups,
i.e. I-VIII, O-Level and A-Level. There are three stages:

Stage 1    Is an Inter Class competition. In this stage the branch head has the authority to nominate individuals for officiating/judging.

Stage 2    Is an Inter School/Intra Cluster Competition. At this stage the cluster convener designates individuals for officiating/judging.

Stage 3  is an Inter Cluster/National Competition.
